In a bid to join the Midrealm Royal University with the Aethelmearc Academy, the Chancellor of RUM, Master Llewellyn, approached the Barony and Jolicia atte Northcliffe in particular to put in a bid for a joint RUM/AA. After several sites were considered and rejected, Cleveland Central Catholic was chosen. Jolicia was the autocrat and Edward FitzRanulf headed the feast. Dorthea was the very able gate keeper and classes were coordinated by the RUM Staff including Baroness Verna (a new transplant to the Cleftlands at the time) and Julian Beachamp.

The RUM was a remarkable success, most past RUMs have had between 100 and 200 attendees and this one topped the charts at 400! One rough patch was that the lunch kitchen had not purchased enough food for the unexpectedly large attendance.

Their Majesties Cellach and Vukasin were in attendance and both taught classes as well as announcing that they would choose their A&S Champion at the Craftsperson's Faire at the event (which no doubht increased the participation in that venue!)

From the event co-autocrat:

I just want to say a huge hoobah and thanks to everyone who helped make RUM/ AA a memorable event. As always, the barony pulled together, worked hard and problem-solved behind the scenes so that every attendee had a wonderful day. Master Llewelyn (RUM Chancellor), Mistress Odriana (AEThelmearc Academy chancellor) and Maiter Phillipe (KMOAS running Craftspersons Faire), in addition to the royalty, were full of kind words and compliments. Thanks to everyone who taught a class, helped a driver find a parking slot, schlepped chairs, chopped veggies, hung decorations, pointed someone to a bathroom, folded a site flyer, donated to the silent auction or just attended -- you made it happen.
The cherry on top was Kari's bring-down-the-house solo at the end of court. Wow is completely inadequate; you truly had to be there.
   Cleftlands, you rock!
   -- Lady Jolicia atte Northclyfe -- RUM/AA co-autocrat
