About the Event

The event was earlier in the month than usual which caused a bit of a scramble so soon after the holidays and the site was smaller than usual which called for cramped quarters, but overall it was a remarkable success. There were two vigils, for Baroness Constanza and Sir Silverthorne respectively. Both came into the SCA with their mothers and chose this event for elevation because both mothers, Mistress Teleri and Cassia, would be able to attend, Silverthorne's mom Cassia because it was local and Constanza's mother Teleri because it was far enough in advance for her to arrange travel from the Kingdom of the West.

The feast was a tour de force, the below the salt would have passed for an above the salt at lesser feasts! (They had venison and baklava below the salt!) And many, many courses. All well researched and well presented by Master Aiden, of course, along with the usual suspects in the kitchen. Baroness Madelaine arranged servers and sewed blue Phrygian caps for them to wear which were remarkably cute and effective in marking the servers (also appropriate, apparently, to the celebration of Saturnalia.)

Their Majesties Cadogan and Anne Marie had a morning court to give out many of the Award of Arms and thus shorten the evening court which was to have two elevations. Constanza's elevation was the first item of business in the evening court so that she could sit in court as Baroness for the rest of the court. Silverthrone's elevation was the final item of business.
